What Valtaris collects, and what it doesn’t

Valtaris is a website and a Chrome extension that exports Reddit threads and analyses them into findings. This page covers both. Short version: we collect what we need to run your account and your analyses, we don’t sell data, and we don’t track you across the web.

Your account

Email address, to sign you in with a one-time link and to send service emails.
Plan and credit usage, to apply your plan’s limits.
Waitlist sign-ups: your email and, if you choose, a description of your role. We use it only to send your invite.

The Chrome extension

The extension reads a Reddit thread only when that thread is open in your browser or you paste its link. It does not read other websites or your browsing history.
Exports to Markdown or JSON are created in your browser and saved to your computer. Exported threads are not sent to us.
Your export settings and a sign-in token are stored in the extension’s local storage on your computer.
When you choose to analyse a thread, the extension sends that thread’s content to Valtaris.

Threads you analyse

The captured thread is used only to produce your report and is deleted as soon as the report is ready, or when the analysis fails.
Reports keep short quotes, scores, dates and links back to Reddit. Reddit usernames are replaced with neutral labels (such as “Commenter”) before storage.
Reports describe what a group of commenters said. We do not build profiles of individual people.
You can delete any report from your account at any time.

Who processes data for us

Cloudflare hosts the website, the service and its database.
Anthropic (directly or through OpenRouter) and DeepSeek run the language models that read thread content during an analysis. DeepSeek processes data in China.
Resend sends our emails.
A payment provider will process payments when paid plans open. We never see your full card details.

We share data with these providers only to run the service. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Cookies and analytics

We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

Keeping and deleting data

Account data is kept while your account is open. To delete your account and everything in it, email privacy@valtaris.net from the address you signed up with, and we’ll delete it within 30 days.
